Mrs. Athena Mason, MAT Ed
Studied at: Walla Walla University
Mrs. M has been a part of our school family for the last 12 years. A wonderful asset to our education staff, she gives 100% and LOVES her students.
The K – 1 program provides quality education through utilizing a solid curriculum. This includes language arts, mathematics, science, Bible, and social studies. The curriculum is enhanced by providing enrichment activities such as physical education, music, and art. We also visit places in the community to give us connections to new information we are learning in the classroom.
A multitude of teaching strategies are used to meet the varying learning styles, needs, abilities and interests of students. Teaching and practice times include: hands-on activities, group work, individualized lessons, discussions, visual aids, role-playing, experiments, and rhythm and movement.
In Mrs. Mason’s room she strives to provide an exciting learning environment where students feel accepted and valued. Each subject taught is infused with Christ. We focus on character education and reinforce these skills throughout the day. We begin each day with worship and have a firm belief that a Christ-centered education is important in developing a strong spiritual foundation.
