Winter Sports Programs

mt. Hood Skiing Program

During Winter Term, Riverside takes interested students to Mt. Hood for several days of skiing or snowboarding.  Students are placed in ski classes that match their skill level, and then given ample opportunity to use those newfound skills on the slopes.  This has proven to be a favorite activity for students year after year. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join the fun!

Ice skating at Mountain View Ice Arena

Last year, this was a great option for those who didn’t participate in skiing or snowboarding. Lessons were given at the beginning of each session, then students practiced newly-acquired skills during free-skate time.

Swimming lessons at the Firstenburg Community Center Pool

Another favorite winter sport option can be found at Firstenburg Community Center Pool, where students are taught by encouraging, experienced instructors. Lessons are provided by skill level, then students are given free-time to play in the Lazy River, go down the water-slide, and practice swimming!
