Wow, I can’t believe our Gateway to Adventure Camp 2018 is over. Week 2 was amazing! We had even more kids attend than week one. This week our focus was on Ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. We learned about how plants, animals and insects all work together to make our ecosystems function. There were a couple highlights of the week. On Wednesday, the kids dissected owl pellets and identified the skeletal remains inside them. Their reactions were “EWWWWWWWWWW…this is SO cool!” And on Friday the kiddos asked again to have our buffet of fruits and plants found in the PNW- as well as CRICKETS! They all are official members of the “Cricket Club”. We even got a couple parents to try them! Another one of our highlights of the week was the family of deer that visited us almost every day during worship. It was like God put them there just for us to enjoy. There was a Mama, Daddy and two babies with their spots still visible. There was quite a bit of squealing from the kiddos (ok, and myself) about how cute they were. But I think above all, we formed stronger friendships with one another. That makes this camp counselor one happy camper! Hope to see even more kids next year at Gateway to Adventure Camp 2019!
